The State Services Authority manages executive remuneration and employment policy for the Victorian Public Service (VPS) and sector.

VPS executives are employed under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act 2004 (PDF 569KB). The Authority and Department of Premier and Cabinet act as the key advisers to government on VPS executive employment matters.

Public sector executive remuneration is established by government and managed by the Government Sector Executive Remuneration Panel (GSERP). The Authority provides advice and support to the operations of the Panel.

data collection

The Authority manages the collection of executive remuneration data to support the GSERP. All Government Business Enterprises and Statutory Authorities are required under government policy to report on remuneration practices.
