This is a joint initiative of the VPSC and the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) and is designed to provide the public sector with concise and relevant information on governance and compliance issues. This second edition discusses the minimum governance requirements for public sector boards.

The new report provides a range of information, including an overview of the functions performed by the Victorian public sector and its employees, the application of the public sector values, and detailed profiles of executive employment.
review of residential charges in group homes
The Victorian Public Sector Commission (formerly the State Services Authority) is conducting an independent review of residential charges in group homes for people with a disability. The review will examine residential charges that exist in group homes operated by the Department of Human Services and by Community Sector Organisations. The review will also consider other fees that may exist in conjunction to residential charges.
On Wednesday 5 March the Premier announced the establishment of the Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC), replacing the State Services Authority (SSA), and the appointment of Belinda Clark as the inaugural Commissioner.

careers with the victorian government
The Victorian Public Sector Commission has added a kinetic text video to the Careers website demonstrating all that a career with the State Government has to offer - from graduates to executives, and administration to zoology.
The video will remain on the careers and graduates website, and will appear across university and employment websites and social media throughout the coming year.

The Victorian Public Sector Commission has released Recruiting People with Disability.
The publication is part of the Getting Recruitment Right series from the Commission and aims to promote best practice in employing people with a disability.

ICT governance education program
The ICT Governance Education Program for project sponsors and members of project boards was established under the Victorian Government ICT Strategy. The program provides a forum where executives can learn from other executives about what to expect when taking responsibility for an ICT-enabled project and how to lead an ICT-enabled project to ensure the best results. The VPSC is running four complete programs in 2014.
